I've raved about Trans-Siberian Orchestra for four years now. This month, people throughout the U.S. will get the chance to see why.
If you live in Michigan, you have two opportunities to see TSO: Once on Friday, the 17th, at The Palace of Auburn Hills and two times at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids on the 19th.
Do not miss TSO! Even if you have to take out a second mortgage on your house to buy scalper-priced tickets, it's worth it. This is the one concert that you'll see in your lifetime that you'll always remember with emotional fondness.
In other magical music news...
I've discovered another band that has a lot of talent, not to mention a bright future. The band is called Sky Salt. Their recently released first CD is called I Believe in Fairy Tales.
Sky Salt is a three-piece lead by a red-haired Russian gal named Xenia whose voice is haunting and unique. Not in an alt-rock, belt-it-out kind of way (a la Amy of Evanescene), but in a quirky, expressive-and-lilting Tori Amos kind of way.
I Believe in Fairy Tales is chock-full of great musicianship, depth, and melodies you can sink your teeth into. I heartilty recommend it.
If our schedules can coordinate, I'll feature an interview with Xenia right here within a week or two. Watch for it.
And get your butt out to see TSO at either The Palace or Van Andel!
Keep Purple!
